Died Friday, November 14, 2025 at home.
Gerald was born September 14, 1940 in Rural Dodge County to Adolf and Emma 'Havekost' Stover. He was raised on the home place east of Uehling and graduated from Uehling High School. After high school, he farmed with his dad and two brothers and also served in the Nebraska Air National Guard. He married Janis Ruwe on May 2, 1965. They lived together on their farm southeast of Uehling for sixty years before recently moving into Fremont. They raised four children on the farm. In addition to farming, he worked for Alfred Egbers.
Gerald was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uehling and was involved in many aspects of the rural church life. He was an avid sports fan but cheered the loudest for his St. Louis Cardinals. His biggest love was attending all of his grandchildren's many activities.

Sister-in-law - Donna (David) Clough of Edina, MN.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uehling. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be Thursday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont from 3pm to 7pm with the family present 5pm to 7pm.

Lee used the metal siding we got from you after the hail to cover our old chicken house so I think of you Janis and Gerald whenever I look out my window. Williamsville, NY Saturday, November 15, 2025 Memories of Gerald and the Stover family run deep for us. We were blessed to be their pastors at St. Paul's in Uehling from 1984 to 1993. Gerald's whole family made those years some of the happiest in our ministry. It was our supreme gladness to re-connect with Laura on Facebook after so many years. We know Gerald suffered ill-health in these more recent years, but now all of that ius behind him, and he rests whole and well with Jesus. Be assured of our prayers for all of you during this time.
