Died Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.
Lois was born February 5, 1930 in New Boston, Illinois to Frank and Clara 'Harfst' Onken. She was raised on a farm and attended school in New Boston which was on the western edge of Illinois along the Mississippi River. After high school Lois worked in the office for a button Manufacturer in Muscatine, Iowa, which is where she met Clarence Kerschinske. They married on May 18, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Clarence worked for Hormel so they lived for a short time in Austin, Minnesota before moving to Fremont in November of 1952. Lois was a full-time homemaker raising 5 children.
Lois was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and school in Fremont and was a faithful Christian. She was involved in the women's groups; Lutheran Hour Ministries; Lutheran Women's Missionary League; Marriage Encounter; the volunteer coordinator of the ''Trash and Treasures'' team for about 30 years; she spent countless hours sewing for the church quilting group; and Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 109. She was very proud that three of her grandsons achieved the Boy Scouts highest honor of being an Eagle Scout. She also loves being an accomplished seamstress. She tended to her many flower gardens daily until her move to Assisted Living in early August.

Lincoln, IL Saturday, August 16, 2025 Jon and I were so happy to be able to visit last year. It was so nice to see all of you. And visiting with Aunt Lois was like reliving a moment with my mom and our grandmother. They were all strong women that taught us well. We pray that your love and memories will bring you peace.
