died early Tuesday morning (Febr. 14, 2017)in Nye Pointe, Fremont.
Gerrie was born September 7, 1925 in Sparta, North Carolina to Walter and Mayme (Fender) Fowlkes. Her family came to Nebraska when she was in her early childhood. She attended school in Madison, Nebraska and graduated from high school in Newman Grove in 1942.
She was married in Fremont in 1946 to Wesley Phillips and she has been a Fremont resident since that time. Before her marriage she worked at the Mead Ordnance Plant. Later she worked for Gambles, and Campbell Soup Co. (formerly Swanson Foods) for 28 years.
She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and she enjoyed playing cards with friends.
Her husband Wesley died in August of 1982. Also preceding her was a brother Pete and sisters Mable and Beulah.

The private family service will be held at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the committal in Memorial Cemetery.
