Muriel K. Heese, age 73, of Fremont,
died Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Dunklau Gardens, Fremont.

Muriel was born October 17, 1941 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Ernest and Oneta (Lorentzen) Kock. She grew up in the area of Wayne, Norfolk, and Hartington in Nebraska. She graduated from the high school in Hartington as the Valedictorian of the class of 1959. She graduated from Wayne State College in 1963 with a teaching degree and later received a certificate for extended teaching. She taught in Hartington, Sutton, and then in Fremont at Washington Elementary School.

On July 17, 1970, Muriel was married to Bernard Heese in Fremont at First Lutheran Church. Later, she worked for Hinky Dinky Grocery store in Fremont for several years until her health failed.

Muriel was a member of First Lutheran Church, and she had been active in a neighborhood sewing group. She was an avid bowler, having bowled in several leagues over the years. She was also a husker football fan.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Oneta 'Cookie' Kock.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday (March 19th) at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Knudson. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church and to the family for later designation. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
