passed away in her home early Wednesday morning, July 6, 2016.
She was born at home on the farm near Lynch, NE on December 11, 1915 to Louis and Anna (Fillipi) Sixta. Her mother died when Lilyan was 11 years old. She had to quit school after the 8th grade to take over household chores and caring for her father and 4 brothers. She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, raising chickens, and making all her laundry soap which she still made in later years.
Her family held barn dances in their newly constructed barn and she played piano and guitar in the family band. It was there she met Edwin Scheinost who was from Gross, NE, and they were married December 2, 1937. They moved to the Valley and Elk City area in 1940 where they farmed several places until 1946 when they moved to an acreage on the east edge of Fremont where she still resided. Her husband died in 1994. They loved farming, nature, traveling, music and dancing.

Elkhorn, NE Saturday, July 9, 2016 I enjoyed getting to know Lilyan, when I came to her home to provide her physical therapy. Lilyan was always sweet and had the kindest eyes and a gentle, loving soul. I know she will be missed, and am happy she is in heaven with her love. Blessings to all members of the family at this difficult time. Fondly, BethEd(Butch) and Eileen Soll
