Henry Alexander Johnson, Jr. 92, of rural Mead
Died early Sunday morning, November 22, 2015, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney, Nebraska.

Henry was born on the Johnson family farm northwest of Mead on December 16th, 1922, to Henry A. Johnson Sr, and Bessie (Weatherbee). Henry graduated from Mead Public School in 1942 and drove the school bus while attending high school. On Sept. 3, 1948, Henry married Alice A. Nelson in Fremont, Nebraska. They lived their 62 years of marriage on the Johnson family farm that was purchased in 1905. Henry lived and worked the family farm all of his life until illness which took him to Kearney.

He was an active and involved member of the Pohocco Lutheran Church for over 65 years. He served as a Director on the South Omaha Production Credit Association Board, was a member of the Saunders County Planning Commission, Masonic Lodge of Wahoo, Farm Bureau, Pork Producers, and was a DeKalb Pfizer Genetics Dealer.

Survivors include: daughter, Sheila (and husband, Scott) Brady of Kearney; and granddaughter, Allison (and husband Anthony) White of Superior, and brother Wallace of Wichita, Kansas.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife - Alice, his parents, and a brother Warren.


The funeral for will be Wednesday, November 25th at 11:00 A.M. at the Pohocco Lutheran Church, south of Fremont on U.S. Highway 77. The Reverends Harold Schmidt and Johnice Orduna will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Pohocco Cemetery next to the church.

Memorials may be made to the family or the Pohocco Lutheran Cemetery.
